Moda šedesátých let
Nejsilnějším stylem ulice, který se však zrodil nejdříve v salónech, bylo hnutí hippies
Typickými prvky jsou čelenky, džíny do zvonu, květinové výšivky, indiánské perelíny, šperky i pro muže, etno prvky, odhalené části těla a průsvitné materiály. Členové hnutí vyznávali magické kulty, mimosmyslové vnímání a v této době vznikl také první horoskop. Jejich slogan „Make peace, not war“ poukazovalo na délku války ve Vietnamu. Věřili, že „láskou lze spasit svět“.
Móda zaznamenala velkou provázanost s uměním a to se stylem op-art (Victor Vasarely) a již zmíněný pop-art (Andy Warhol). Hudebními ikonami jsou vedle Beatles a Stoneů skupina Doors v čele s Jimem Morrisonem, zpěvačka Janis Joplin a geniální černošský kytarista Jimi Hendrix.
A ještě pár slov o (nejen) tehdejších modních tvůrcích: Mary Quantová vynalezla kromě možné minisukně i kalhotový kostým a byla oblíbená i revolučním užívání materiálu. Na scénu nastupuje Yves Saint Laurent, který se ujímá vedení salónu po smrti Diora. V Paříži byl ale nepochopený, a tak ji opustil. Po svém návratu bylo jeho místo nezákonně zabráno Marcem Bohanem a Y. S. Laurent se rozhodl otevřít vlastní modelový dům. Už jako mladý byl velmi talentovaný a měl před sebou vskutku zářivou budoucnost.
Pierre Cardin jako jeden z prvních rád experimentuje s materiálem. Originální Paco Rabanne zhotovuje své šaty zase z materiálů přímo neoděvních. Legendární jsou jeho modely z kovových plíšků, plastů, plexiskla a podobně. Itálie je nadobro uznávaná a chce tvořit i svůj vlastní rukopis. Typický je důraz na materiál. Centrem je Řím, Florencie a Milán.
Na konci 60. let ale revoluce pomalu slábne a její kola se začínají zadrhávat.
